Camille Veronica Kostek is an American model and entertainment reporter. She came to prominence for her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and gained international recognition after landing a solo cover with the magazine in 2019.
Early life and education
Kostek was born to Alan, a contractor, and Christina, a gym manager. She is the eldest of four siblings, and is of Polish, Irish and Jamaican descent. She started taking ballet lessons when she was three years old, and continued her training at Broadway Dance Center in New York City. After graduating from Haddam-Killingworth High School as a cheerleader, lacrosse varsity captain, and host for her high school’s broadcasting program HKTV, she majored in Communications at Eastern Connecticut State University where she was a member of the dance squad and was anchor of the university’s network show TV22. Kostek also worked as a fitness instructor in college.
In 2013, while in her junior year of college, Kostek was accepted to the New England Patriots Cheerleaders roster. She landed the cover of its annual Swimsuit Calendar which was shot in Saint Lucia in 2014. She also joined the NFL Tour in China as Patriots ambassador where she performed routines and taught youth cheer clinics. In addition, Kostek has featured in advertising campaigns for Patriot Place, and served as spokesperson for the cheer team in various television shows and public engagements.
In her last game before retirement, she performed at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona for Super Bowl XLIX where the Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks on February 1, 2015.
Kostek started as co-host of programs in ABC, CBS, and Fox affiliate channels in New England, as well as a guest anchor in WPRI-TV’s The Rhode Show in 2015. She was a reporter for NESN’s show Dirty Water TV from 2016 to 2017 covering travel as well as sports events including NASCAR. Since 2018, she has hosted and corresponded for South by Southwest, the Super Bowl and Levitate Music Festival, as well as lifestyle, red carpet and sports events for Maxim and Sports Illustrated, among others. She has also co-hosted radio shows on SiriusXM.
Right out of college, Kostek was offered a job on ESPN’s Saturday Night Football, but turned it down for the opportunity to travel while modeling.
Kostek joined her first modeling agency in Boston in 2015. She subsequently became brand ambassador and model for Benrus, Equinox Fitness, and Dune Jewelry. Her early work consisted of print and television commercials for Nissan Barberino, Ciao Bella, Zudy Vinyl, Neoscape, Rebag, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Franklin Sports, Valendi Swimwear, Living Proof, and New Balance to name a few. She has also graced the covers of The Improper Bostonian, BostonMan, BELLA, and Ocean Drive magazines, among others.
Kostek has since done national and international campaigns and ambassadorships for various clothing and cosmetic brands including Victoria’s Secret. She also did ad campaigns for her friend country singer Jessie James Decker’s fashion line Kittenish, and walked the runway for its Spring/Summer 2019 collection at New York Fashion Week. Kostek also models for Reebok, and headlined the brand’s PureMove Bra campaign in 2019.
Connecticut Magazine named Kostek in their 40 under 40 list of influential people of 2018. She was included in Maxim’s Hot 100 list of Sexiest Women in the World in 2019.
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit
In February 2017, Kostek moved to Los Angeles but found difficulty securing representation as they kept telling her she was not tall enough at 5’8″, or thin enough at dress size 4/6. She then submitted a video of her experience to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue which was conducting an open casting call at the time. She was scouted, and walked the runway for the SI Swimsuit Fashion Show during Miami Beach Swim Week in July 2017. The following month, she had her first photoshoot with the magazine in Belize for the 2018 issue. Kostek was chosen from 5,000 open casting call candidates and won the inaugural Sports Illustrated Swim Search in March 2018. She walked the runway for Miami Beach Swim Week for the second time in July 2018, and closed the show the following year.
The first model announced for the 2019 issue, she did her shoot in South Australia with photographer Josie Clough, and landed a solo cover in her official year as a rookie.
In 2018, Kostek collaborated with Dune Jewelry and released the Voyager Collection. The following year, she and the company released her namesake Camille Collection of travel inspired jewelry which she designed.
Kostek has conducted lectures on self-acceptance and body image to undergraduate students of Northeastern University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Providence College in 2019.
Trained as a dancer, Kostek often posts videos of herself on social media spontaneously dancing in places outside a dance studio. Her catchphrase “Never Not Dancing” caught on and inspired others to do the same.
Since 2015, she has been in a relationship with retired New England Patriots football player Rob Gronkowski.

First TV Show
In 2017, Camille Kostek made her first TV show appearance in the sports-comedy talk show, The Barstool Rundown: Live from Houston.
Long before she started working as a model, the gym workouts had been an integral part of Kostek’s daily schedule. While working as a cheerleader for New England Patriots, she relied on weight training and cardio to keep her fitness levels up.
After she quit working as a cheerleader, she was introduced to Barre, which has become an important part of her current fitness regime. She believes that one-hour Barre sessions have made her body much better.
For her strength training and conditioning workouts, she relies on the guidance of Kirk Myers and regularly works out at his Dog Pound gym. She has also incorporated boxing workouts into her workout regime.

While studying in high school, she excelled in dance and was also the captain of the school’s lacrosse team.
Since the age of 15, it was her dream to be featured in the SI swimsuit edition. She managed to fulfill her dream in November 2017 as she modeled for a photoshoot for the 2018 edition.
Camille was hired by New England Patriots as a cheerleader while she was still studying in college. She worked with them from 2013 to 2014.
While studying in high school, she used to spend her weekends at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City.
She had to give multiple auditions before she was selected to the cheerleading team by the Patriots.
If she hadn’t found success as a cheerleader, she would have opted to pursue a career in broadcast journalism.

She started her modeling career in 2015 after inking a representation deal with Boston based Maggie Inc.
When she was looking to kickstart her modeling career, she was turned down by several modeling agencies as they felt she was on the heavier side. Many agencies asked her to take 1¼ inches off her thighs but as it was against her principles and she felt her body was already perfect, she decided to refrain from it.
She had learned about SI Swimsuit model search on Instagram, which required video submission. To create the best possible submission tape, Kostek got in touch with her former high school classmate Thijs Stoop, who was working as a videographer. They shot the video in Malibu.
Camille started taking piano lessons when she was in the 1st grade. She continued her lessons for a couple of years.
She started taking ballet lessons at the age of 3. By the age of 7, she was taking part in national level competitions. She continued participating in competitions till the age of 18.
While she was working as a cheerleader, she used to spend her spare time working as a fitness instructor at Modern Barre.
She has also worked at a boutique shop called Ciao Bella and is even reported to have done a couple of commercials for them.
